New Initiative Aims to Empower Women and Youth in Nigeria’s Creative Industry

Venture Garden Group (VGG), in collaboration with Ascend Studios and USAID, has launched the Africa Creative Blueprint (ACB), an initiative designed to uplift women and youth in Nigeria’s creative sector. This programme aims to equip participants with the skills, resources, and global opportunities needed to thrive in the competitive world of creativity.

The Africa Creative Blueprint is committed to enhancing Nigeria’s creative economy by providing dynamic, hands-on training for budding talents. Participants will receive the tools and knowledge required to compete both locally and on the international stage. The programme’s highlight is its practical approach, which includes training 200 skilled participants who will then contribute to the production of a 13-episode television drama. This effort is expected to generate over 200 jobs, spanning full-time and part-time roles, during the production phase.

Bunmi Akinyemiju, CEO and co-founder of Venture Garden Group, described the programme as a pivotal moment for Nigerian creativity. “We are always committed to efforts that nurture the promising talents Africa possesses. This collaboration represents a milestone for the Nigerian creative sector and an opportunity to showcase African creativity on a global platform,” he said.

The partnership is set to boost Nigeria’s Nollywood industry, which is already a major player in Africa’s creative scene. Additional partners in this initiative include Ralph Simon, a renowned music executive, and Paramount Nigeria, further showing the programme’s potential to attract international attention and funding.

The Africa Creative Blueprint also reflects a broader vision to create infrastructure for world-class creative talent, fostering long-term growth in Nigeria’s cultural and creative industries. With the creative economy playing an increasingly vital role in job creation and cultural diplomacy, the programme aims to bridge skill gaps and promote Nigeria’s talents on a global scale.
