Pan-African network AfriLabs has hit a significant milestone, surpassing 500 member hubs with the addition of 18 new organisations. This expansion brings the network’s total to 514 hubs, spanning 54 African countries, solidifying its position as a driving force in the continent’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
With a mission to foster collaboration and development, AfriLabs connects technology hubs, startups, investors, and other stakeholders across Africa. Its latest additions showcase a diverse and vibrant expansion, strengthening innovation in regions like Lagos, Nairobi, and Johannesburg.
New Members Drive Regional Growth
Nigeria continues to play a key role in AfriLabs’ vision, contributing five new hubs: Vortex Central, Lhaude Africa, darey.io, Kristina Jade Centre, and CorestreamNG. These hubs bolster innovation efforts in cities like Lagos and Jos. Meanwhile, Ghana adds Inovech Foundation, Centre for Enterprise Learning, Wislaw Education and Support Fund, and Enactus UMaT, expanding the footprint in Accra and Tarkwa.
South Africa also features prominently in this round of expansion with Empire Partner Foundation, I’m In Startup Hub, and Savant Technology Incubator making waves in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Kenya contributes Lolwe AI Hub and JHUB Africa, both rooted in Nairobi, while Lesotho debuts with two entries: the Lesotho Entrepreneurship Hub and Seed Financing Facility and the Makhala Thekiso Foundation. Burkina Faso and Cameroon complete the list with Mektoub and the Boris Bison Youth Empowerment Business Incubator, respectively.
AfriLabs’ growth exemplifies its dedication to creating a pan-African innovation ecosystem that fosters collaboration and sustainable development. “The addition of these remarkable hubs underscores AfriLabs’ commitment to building a united and inclusive innovation ecosystem that transcends borders and fosters impactful collaborations,” said Zeineb Messaoud, AfriLabs’ director of community.
“Each of these new members brings unique expertise and vibrant energy, further empowering communities to leverage technology and innovation for sustainable development. We are excited to work with them to create meaningful opportunities and drive growth across Africa,” she added.
