Kenyan Startup Roadrims Bridges the Gap Between Cargo Owners and Drivers

Kenya’s logistics sector is getting a tech-driven boost with Roadrims, an e-logistics startup that connects cargo owners with verified vehicle owners and drivers. The platform aims to improve operational efficiency for domestic and cross-border freight, as well as middle-mile and last-mile deliveries.

A Tech-Driven Approach to Logistics

Founded in mid-2023 by Jacob Ochieng (CEO) and Joshua Kilwanda (CTO), Roadrims offers a seamless logistics experience through technology-driven solutions such as geofencing and delivery verification tools.

Many competitors focus on volume-driven models with low margins, leading to operational inefficiencies and financial strain. We noted that businesses often struggle with first- and last-mile delivery, particularly in complex urban and peri-urban environments,” Ochieng explained.

Unlike traditional logistics platforms that prioritise high volume over efficiency, Roadrims operates on a high-margin, sustainable model. This ensures that cargo owners and drivers can maintain profitability while improving delivery reliability.

A Growing Network and Future Expansion

Despite being entirely bootstrapped, Roadrims has already secured major partnerships with Carrefour, Wasoko, and Scan Global, alongside 15 other partners. The startup has onboarded over 500 vehicles and currently has 50 clients in the pipeline, covering most major towns in Kenya.

Looking ahead, the company has ambitious expansion plans. “By mid-2025, we plan to expand regionally into Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia,” Ochieng revealed.
