Côte d’Ivoire has officially launched its e-Justice platform, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation efforts. With this initiative, citizens can now access judicial services more efficiently, starting with the ability to apply online for nationality certificates in Yopougon and Dabou.
The platform offers a streamlined process, assigning each applicant a unique identification number, integrating a visible electronic stamp (CEV), and enabling verification through the National Office of Civil Status and Identification’s (ONECI) VERIF application. These innovations allow users to track their application status in real-time, eliminating administrative bottlenecks.
Paving the Way for a Modern Judicial System
Speaking at the official launch, Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Jean Sansan Kambile, highlighted the platform’s transformative impact.
“Justice must be an accessible, fluid, and transparent service for all. Today, it is a fundamental milestone that we are setting on the path to a more modern Côte d’Ivoire. This platform is a symbol of transformation and progress, at the service of every Ivorian,” he stated.
The initiative is a key component of Côte d’Ivoire’s national digital transformation strategy, aimed at enhancing public service efficiency. Despite ranking 124th out of 193 countries in the United Nations e-Government Development Index, the country is making significant strides towards modernisation, with e-Justice serving as a crucial step forward.
What’s Next?
The government plans to expand the platform in the coming months, incorporating criminal record management and other judicial services. The ultimate goal is to harmonise the legal system and ensure that every citizen has safer, easier, and more efficient access to justice.
