Telecom Egypt has signed a series of strategic agreements with Orange Egypt, marking a significant step in advancing Egypt’s digital infrastructure. Announced on Tuesday, the deals aim to strengthen technological services and enhance Orange Egypt’s offerings to its customers.
The agreements highlight the increasing investment in Egypt’s telecom sector, underscoring the push for improved digital services and expanding innovative solutions. The signing ceremony was attended by key industry figures, including Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), Dr Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohamed Nasr, CEO of Telecom Egypt, and Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt. The agreements, valued at approximately EGP 15 billion, will be implemented over a set period.
Strengthening Network Infrastructure
One of the key elements of the deal includes an extension of gearbox servicing for an additional three years, extending its validity until 2032. This ensures continued technical support and reliability for Orange Egypt’s operations.
Furthermore, Orange Egypt will benefit from a new agreement that supplies its mobile sites with fibre-to-the-site (FTTS) services for three years. This will significantly improve network efficiency and allow for faster data transmission across the country.
A Service Level Agreement (SLA) was also signed, aiming to reinforce Orange Egypt’s position as a premier provider of telecommunications and high-speed mobile internet services. This will contribute to the company’s readiness to roll out 5G services, aligning with Egypt’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
Boosting Affordability and Digital Expansion
The agreements also introduce modifications to the existing fixed internet services framework, focusing on making services more cost-effective. This will enable Orange Egypt to offer more competitive pricing and value-packed internet bundles, ultimately benefiting consumers with enhanced service affordability.
The longstanding collaboration between Telecom Egypt and Orange Egypt has established a solid foundation in the market, driving expansion and delivering positive outcomes for stakeholders.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring top-tier internet access across Egypt.
“By mid-2025, we expect that mobile tower coverage for all three phases of the ‘Decent Life’ villages project will be completed, at a total cost of EGP 9 billion,” he stated. “Additionally, all newly constructed highways will be fully covered with mobile services.”
Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt, expressed optimism about the impact of these agreements, stating that they will “increase operational capacity, enhance efficiency, and further solidify Orange’s position in Egypt as a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile internet services.”
Meanwhile, Mohamed Nasr, CEO of Telecom Egypt, highlighted the significance of the long-term agreements. “These deals reaffirm confidence in Telecom Egypt’s reliable infrastructure and extensive technical expertise.”
This collaboration is expected to accelerate Egypt’s digital evolution, making high-speed internet more accessible and improving connectivity across the country.
