In a move set to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation, Bayobab has partnered with China Mobile International Limited (CMI) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed at the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona. This collaboration aims to enhance digital infrastructure, strengthen connectivity, and open up new opportunities across the continent.
The agreement focuses on key areas such as wholesale mobility, fixed business, and emerging digital initiatives. According to Mazen Mroué, CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure – Bayobab, the partnership is designed to “connect Africa and create value for stakeholders” through innovation and cooperation.
This alliance also strengthens China-Africa economic ties. Wang Hua, Chairman of CMI, highlighted that the partnership “leverages combined strengths to deliver high-quality network services for both Chinese and local enterprises operating in Africa,” reinforcing sustainable development efforts.
With Africa’s digital economy expanding rapidly, this partnership could be crucial in bridging connectivity gaps and driving technological advancements across the region.
