Stakpak secures $500K in pre-seed funding

Stakpak, an Egyptian startup has been developing an AI-powered DevOps platform designed to simplify infrastructure management for developers. Over the past two years, the company has been quietly refining its technology to reduce the complexities of DevOps, helping engineers save time on infrastructure-related tasks.

Founder and CEO George Fahmy was inspired to launch Stakpak after experiencing first-hand the challenges of DevOps while working with software companies in Europe and the US during his first year of college.

“In every company I worked at, infrastructure management was a burden. Developers have to handle it, but only a small fraction specialize in it full-time,” Fahmy told Techpoint Africa. “Most developers struggle with ensuring security and scalability, which ultimately slows down their workflow.”

Fahmy started working on Stakpak in 2021 but committed to it full-time in 2022, just before the launch of ChatGPT. Observing how large language models (LLMs) were revolutionizing code writing, the Stakpak team began experimenting with AI for DevOps automation. Today, the company claims its AI-driven platform delivers cutting-edge performance, significantly reducing the time developers spend on infrastructure management.

Stakpak recently secured a $500,000 pre-seed funding round led by P1 Ventures, with participation from Digital Currency Group, 500 Sanabil, and Instabug co-founders Moataz Soliman and Omar Gabr.

“We are impressed by George’s vision for Stakpak and the quality of his product. Despite limited resources, he has demonstrated remarkable execution speed. His experience across the US, Europe, and the Middle East uniquely positions him to build a global business,” said Mikael Hajjar, Co-founder and Managing Partner at P1 Ventures.

Stakpak’s AI-powered DevOps agent dramatically accelerates infrastructure-related processes, completing tasks in 50 minutes that would typically take a developer four hours. The company initially adopted a per-seat pricing model but has since transitioned to a pay-per-request system, allowing businesses to integrate Stakpak’s APIs and even build custom internal tools on its platform.

With the fresh funding, Stakpak plans to expand its team across the US and Egypt. While its business and operations teams are based in the US to focus on the American market, the company’s engineering and product development teams remain in Egypt.
