Flutterwave has officially launched its Send App in Ghana, providing a streamlined solution for receiving international remittances. This initiative enables individuals and businesses to receive funds in their bank accounts or mobile money wallets, including MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash, and AirtelTigo Money.
Designed to facilitate hassle-free cross-border transactions, Send App supports various financial needs, such as family support, tuition payments, and business operations. The platform offers competitive fees to ensure users receive maximum value from their transfers. Security remains a top priority, as the Send App is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, the highest standard in the payments industry. This certification ensures all transactions are encrypted and safeguarded against fraud and unauthorized access.
Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave, underscored the company’s commitment to enhancing financial connectivity across Africa. “With Send App now live in Ghana, we are providing a fast, reliable, and accessible solution for individuals and businesses to receive international payments without stress. This marks a significant milestone in our mission to connect Africa to the global economy.”
Flutterwave secured approval from the Bank of Ghana in March to provide inward remittance services. The fintech has been expanding its footprint across Africa, having obtained Payment Services Provider and Payments Facilitator licenses in Egypt in 2023 and a Payment System License in Zambia in February 2025.
The launch of the Send App in Ghana aligns with Flutterwave’s broader strategy to enhance its payment ecosystem and strengthen financial connectivity across the continent. This new development is expected to provide a secure and efficient remittance platform, contributing to Ghana’s ongoing efforts to boost financial inclusion and drive economic growth.
