The 2025 THRIVE Global Impact Challenge is calling on agritech startups worldwide to submit bold, transformative ideas. These ideas could shape the future of food. The initiative, organised by SVG Ventures, is offering selected founders the chance to pitch at its Silicon Valley summit. And it could potentially secure up to $1 million in investment.
This year’s challenge focuses on startups working on six core themes tied to climate resilience and food security. The initiative aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and aims to accelerate solutions that can help ensure a more equitable and sustainable future in agriculture.
Successful applicants will pitch their innovations at the THRIVE Global Impact Challenge. Then finalists from each theme can compete for the top award. The stakes are high — and so are the benefits.
“This challenge represents an extraordinary opportunity for innovators to amplify their impact and contribute to a more sustainable future for agriculture and food systems globally,” the organisers noted.
A Global Stage for Groundbreaking Solutions
All finalists will enjoy a tailored experience designed to boost visibility and performance. They will receive two complimentary tickets to the summit and a pre-event networking reception. A personalised coaching session with a professional pitch expert will help them refine their ideas ahead of a virtual pitch day featuring top industry executives.
Finalists will also be given a dedicated booth during the summit’s startup showcase, ensuring face time with investors, stakeholders, and decision-makers. But the real prize is the opportunity to win the prestigious Global Impact Challenge Award and an investment of up to $1 million from SVG Ventures.
To be eligible, startups must be in the Seed to Series A stage. And must show a measurable climate and align with one of the summit’s key themes. The challenge is open to founders from any part of the world.
How to Join the Challenge
The application deadline is Sunday, 25 May 2025, and entries can be submitted via the THRIVE Challenge application portal. If selected, startups will join a fast-growing list of innovators shaping the global food system’s future.
