Africa’s pioneer customer experience intelligence firm, Ajua, has brought back Claire Munene as Chief Experience Officer (CXO), signalling a strategic move to ramp up customer-centric innovation across African markets. Claire’s appointment is expected to supercharge Ajua’s mission of turning consumer insights into real-time business growth.
After a successful stint as Director of Customer Experience at Telkom Kenya, Claire rejoins Ajua with a strong reputation for reshaping consumer engagement in Africa’s telecom sector. Her work at Telkom drove major improvements in customer satisfaction and sparked internal innovations that contributed to 30 percent of the company’s commercial revenue.
This isn’t Claire’s first ride with Ajua. Between 2015 and 2020, she held key leadership roles at the company, including Vice President of Partnerships, Head of Growth and Strategy, and Chief Operating Officer. During that time, she oversaw 400 percent revenue growth in East, West, and even Caribbean markets, while sealing influential partnerships like the one with Safaricom’s SPARK Venture Fund.
Driving Growth Through Experience
Ajua’s return to Claire comes as part of its wider ambition to solidify its position as a go-to platform for customer experience (CX) solutions in Africa. Known for integrating customer intelligence at every consumer touchpoint, Ajua enables businesses to optimise services, enhance loyalty, and build lasting relationships through data.
“Claire’s return marks a defining moment for Ajua and for African businesses that are ready to unlock new levels of growth through customer-centric innovation,” said Nyasha Mutsekwa, CEO of Ajua. “Her unmatched ability to turn customer insights into scalable solutions is exactly what we need to elevate our mission.”
Claire’s CX journey began at Safaricom, where she pioneered services like the revenue-boosting Okoa Jahazi and the continent’s first cash economy tracking tool, Consumer Wallet. She also launched the Safaricom Academy, an initiative that continues to nurture regional tech and entrepreneurial talent.
Ajua’s platform is designed to connect businesses with customer feedback in real-time, providing the data and tools required to build smarter, faster responses. Its end-to-end intelligence system allows African businesses to compete through customer acquisition and retention strategies grounded in high-fidelity data.
