Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection, in collaboration with global tech event organiser KAOUN International, has announced a new venture—GITEX Future Health Africa/Morocco. The announcement came during the third edition of GITEX Africa Morocco, one of the continent’s largest tech and startup gatherings.
The health-tech summit, set to debut in Casablanca from 21 to 23 April 2026, is expected to reshape Africa’s healthcare sector through digital innovation. The event will run under the patronage of Minister Amine Tehraoui and in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sciences and Health (FM6SS).
The launch was marked by an official partnership agreement, positioning the event as a cornerstone in Morocco’s broader healthcare reform vision.
Digital Health Front and Centre
The summit, which includes the GITEX DIGI_HEALTH programme, aims to tackle persistent challenges in healthcare access, delivery, and data management. Leveraging the rise of AI and other digital tools, the event is expected to spotlight Morocco’s leadership in health-tech innovation across Africa.

“GITEX Future Health Africa/Morocco embodies the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to health as a fundamental and universal human right… Through international partnerships, strategic innovation, and shared expertise, we have a unique opportunity to co-build inclusive, resilient, and people-centred healthcare systems for the continent and beyond,” said Mr. Amine Tehraoui, Morocco’s Minister of Health and Social Protection.
Africa’s healthcare market, valued at US$259 billion, is on track to become the second largest globally by 2030, just behind the United States. Morocco’s fast-growing digital infrastructure and commitment to data-led healthcare position it well to drive this growth.
GITEX 2026: Focused on AI, Data, and Public-Private Partnerships
The three-day event will open with a high-level leadership summit, designed to shape the future of healthcare across Africa. Topics will include AI-powered diagnostics, national health data integration, investment in research, and expanded access to care.
“There is urgency from governments and healthcare institutions worldwide – and especially in Africa – to modernise and digitise their healthcare services… GITEX Future Health Africa/Morocco will highlight the role and growing influence of AI and new digital solutions to improve data-driven decision making and reduce health inequities,” said Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International.
The summit will bring together ministers, CIOs, CTOs, hospital leaders, and innovators to drive productive conversations and partnerships. At its core, the event promotes a public-private synergy, essential for closing the health equity gap and advancing sustainable systems.
