Jumia Nigeria, the local arm of Africa’s leading e-commerce platform, has announced Temidayo Ojo as its new Chief Executive Officer. His appointment marks a strategic shift in leadership that reflects the company’s renewed focus on homegrown talent and market-specific expertise.

Ojo replaces Sunil Natraj, who is credited with restoring customer trust and operational efficiency during a turbulent period. The leadership reshuffle is part of Jumia’s effort to empower local leaders and strengthen its pan-African growth strategy.

“I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with the leadership of Jumia Nigeria, a market that holds immense potential and strategic importance,” said Ojo. “As someone who grew up in Nigeria and understands the unique needs of our customers and partners, this role is deeply personal to me.”

Driving Growth with Local Insight and Global Vision

Ojo began his journey with Jumia in 2020, serving first as Head of Planning and Performance, then as Chief Commercial Officer, and most recently as CEO of Jumia Ghana. During his time in Ghana, he led the company to record-breaking growth while fostering a strong organisational culture.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Finance, Strategy, and Consulting from IESE Business School.

His energy, values, and business acumen make him the right person to lead Jumia Nigeria into its next chapter,” said Francis Dufay, Jumia Group CEO. “His leadership in Ghana has shown what’s possible when a strong team shares a clear vision.”

Natraj, the outgoing CEO, was praised for leading Jumia Nigeria through a critical phase. The company thanked him for his impactful contributions and wished him continued success in his next ventures.

To complete the leadership transition, Jumia also named Seleem Musibau as the new CEO of Jumia Ghana, succeeding Ojo. The company described these appointments as part of a larger mission to build resilient, innovation-driven leadership across Africa.

I am passionate about crafting stories, vibing to good music (and making some too), debating Nigeria’s political future like it’s the World Cup, and finding the perfect quiet spot to work and unwind.
