Samsung has lifted the curtain on its latest innovation, the Vision AI TV — a device the company says will redefine the way people use their television sets. Far from being just another screen, the new model combines artificial intelligence with advanced privacy protection, placing it at the centre of the connected home.

The global tech giant, which has held the number one position in the television market for 19 straight years, made the announcement during a launch event in Lagos. Samsung Electronics West Africa’s CEO, Tae Sun Lee, described the Vision AI TV as part of the company’s commitment to shaping the future of home technology.

With Vision AI, we’re not just offering a TV; we’re introducing a smarter, more connected way to live, building on almost two decades of global leadership,” he said.

Smarter Features, Stronger Protection

The television is designed to function as a hub for smart living. Beyond streaming shows or films, it enables users to search instantly for information based on on-screen content, control other connected devices, and even monitor pets or family members at home.

To keep the device relevant over time, Samsung has promised seven years of operating system updates. The Vision AI TV will also operate with Samsung Knox, the company’s trusted security platform, ensuring user data remains protected.

Oge Maduagwu, Head of Marketing & Communications at Samsung Electronics West Africa, said the new technology was aimed at changing how people interact with their TVs. “These new TVs are intelligent lifestyle hubs, as they leverage Vision AI to deliver personalised, contextual, and seamless experiences that redefine television,” she noted.

Elevating the Viewing Experience

The 2025 lineup spans OLED, Neo QLED, QLED and lifestyle models, all enhanced by the new AI features. Ajay David, Samsung West Africa’s Head of Consumer Electronics, highlighted upgrades in display quality and performance.

This year, we’ve introduced glare-free OLED and expanded anti-glare technology to more Neo QLED models, boosted brightness by up to 30 per cent, and added high refresh rates up to 240 Hz for ultra-smooth motion,” he explained. He added that the Vision AI system enhances both sound and picture quality, while integrating seamlessly with smart home features.

David also confirmed that Samsung had launched Nigeria’s first 100-inch Neo QLED, signalling the brand’s commitment to pushing display technology further.

I am passionate about crafting stories, vibing to good music (and making some too), debating Nigeria’s political future like it’s the World Cup, and finding the perfect quiet spot to work and unwind.
