The Federal Government is preparing a fresh edition of the 3MTT Impact Summit, a national event built to highlight emerging digital talent and encourage Nigerians to turn bold ideas into working solutions. The summit forms part of the broader 3MTT programme, which is led by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency.
The initiative aims to give people the technical skills needed to thrive in the digital economy. As a result, participants gain access to training, mentorship, and support that links them to real job opportunities.
A Nationwide Rollout
This year’s summit will run across six regions. Delta and Gombe will host the South–South and North–East legs on 28–29 November, while Kano will stage the North–West event on the same dates. The South–East edition is set for Enugu on 3–4 December. Lagos will welcome the South–West on 8–9 December, and Abuja will close the series on 10–11 December for the North Central region.
In a LinkedIn post, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, said that “across all six regions in Nigeria, our fellows will present solutions shaped by their communities’ needs. Their work shows that innovation thrives when people are empowered with knowledge and supported by strong ecosystems. The summit is a bridge between learning and industry, between local insights and national impact.”
The summit will also feature top performers from recent hackathons, giving them a chance to pitch their solutions to investors, policymakers, and leaders across the tech ecosystem. Their projects cover health, agriculture, financial inclusion, climate resilience, education and several other pressing sectors. Because of this direct exposure, many are expected to secure new partnerships that could help scale their work nationwide.
Launched in 2023, the 3MTT programme seeks to train three million Nigerians in digital skills ranging from software development and artificial intelligence to data science and cybersecurity by 2027. The goal is to open up two million digital jobs by 2025 while expanding a talent pipeline that supports Nigeria’s fast-growing tech sector. The programme has already trained 30,000 fellows since inception, and the summit is expected to demonstrate how far the initiative has come.
Participants will receive recognition through mentorship sessions, networking opportunities and cash awards, all designed to strengthen their growth pathways. With each new cohort, the programme continues to widen access to digital literacy and empower people from communities across the country.
