Min Bosun Tijani initator of GovGuideNigeria

The Federal Government has introduced a new artificial intelligence platform designed to make government services easier to access for Nigerians.

The platform, known as GovGuideNigeria, was unveiled by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, through a statement shared on X on Thursday.

According to the Minister, the AI-powered service allows Nigerians to find government information faster through both WhatsApp and a web platform. The system currently supports English, Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba.

The government said the platform was created to improve access to public services, especially for people who struggle with language barriers or limited digital literacy.

Tijani said, “Today, we launched GovGuideNigeria, an AI-powered platform designed to make access to government information simpler, faster, and more inclusive for every Nigerian.”

The new service gives users access to information from more than 35 federal ministries and over 60 government agencies. Officials believe the platform could reduce the stress many Nigerians face when searching for government-related information online.

Govt pushes deeper into AI services

The GovGuideNigeria project is part of the Federal Government’s broader digital transformation drive.

Over the past few years, the government has increased its focus on artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. As part of that effort, the Ministry previously launched Nigeria’s first multilingual large language model known as N-ATLAS.

The AI model was built to support local languages while helping preserve Nigeria’s linguistic diversity. It also aimed to improve datasets needed for more inclusive AI systems across the country.

The initiative was developed through partnerships involving National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Meta, and Publica.

Tijani stated, “I appreciate the strong collaboration between NCAIR, Meta, and Publica in bringing this important initiative to life.”

The Minister added that the project reflects how government institutions and private technology firms can work together to solve public sector challenges.

Meanwhile, the government believes the platform will help underserved communities gain easier access to important public information without needing to visit offices physically.

The launch also comes as Nigeria increases investment in digital public infrastructure and AI-driven innovation.

I am passionate about crafting stories, vibing to good music (and making some too), debating Nigeria’s political future like it’s the World Cup, and finding the perfect quiet spot to work and unwind.
