AfriLabs and MSwitch Creative Hub have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand global remote work opportunities for African professionals. The agreement, formalised at a recent press conference in Abuja, aims to bridge the gap between skilled African talent and international employers.

AfriLabs, a pan-African network with over 500 technology hubs across 53 countries, is working alongside MSwitch to provide a platform for African professionals to secure sustainable digital employment. The initiative focuses on leveraging technology to enhance economic empowerment while keeping talent within the continent.

Expanding Job Opportunities with Cybersecurity Inc. USA

As part of this initiative, AfriLabs has also partnered with Cybersecurity Inc. USA to boost recruitment, training, and job placement through remote work. Work platform. This collaboration is set to create 2,000 immediate job opportunities, with plans to scale up to 250,000 jobs within 18 months. Roles will span various industries, including customer service, software development, cybersecurity, healthcare, and digital marketing.

By enabling remote work, we foster homegrown innovation and strengthen local economies,” said Ajibola Odukoya, AfriLabs’ Chief Operating Officer.

Building a Sustainable Remote Work Ecosystem

MSwitch Creative Hub will play a critical role by providing infrastructure and training to ensure African professionals excel in the global digital economy. The initiative will offer fully equipped co-working spaces, uninterrupted electricity, high-speed internet, and industry-standard tools to support productivity.

Zainab Salami, Co-Founder and Executive Director of MSwitch, highlighted the initiative’s potential to reduce youth unemployment. “With over 53% of young Nigerians aged 15-24 either unemployed or underemployed, this partnership is a game-changer. By bridging the gap between talent and opportunity, we are not only tackling unemployment but also positioning Africa as a leader in digital and creative industries,” she stated.

The initiative is already gaining traction, with over 200,000 businesses signing up in its pilot phase. Nigeria, as one of Africa’s top tech hubs, is a key launchpad, with plans to expand across the continent. The collaboration between AfriLabs, MSwitch, and Cybersecurity Inc.
