Zenith Bank Plc has marked 35 years of trusted service with a grand event at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos. The anniversary drew dignitaries, staff, partners and friends who gathered to celebrate the bank’s journey from a modest start-up to a leading name in Nigerian banking.
The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dame Dr Adaora Umeoji OON, highlighted the foundation of the bank’s success. “Our success has been built on the trust of our customers and the dedication of our staff. Today, we not only celebrate 35 years of growth and excellence, but also the people who made this possible,” she said.
Honouring Pioneer Customers and Staff
The celebration placed special focus on those who have stood by the bank since its earliest days. Its first customers and long-serving employees received recognition for their loyalty and contributions to Zenith’s success.

The bank’s Founder and Chairman, Mr Jim Ovia CFR, described the milestone as proof of Zenith’s resilience and innovation. He praised the role of staff and stakeholders who, over three decades, strengthened the institution’s reputation in Nigeria and beyond.
