The Nigeria Fintech Week 2025 will bring together experts from various industries, not just the tech sector. Fintech Association of Nigeria (FintechNGR), the event’s organiser, announced this at a press conference. Dr. Stanley Jacob, the association’s president and CEO of Zest Payments Limited, said the event, now in its eighth edition, aims to push the boundaries of innovation and inclusion.
Moreover, Dr. Jacob said this year’s theme, “The Fintech Ecosystem Symphony: Orchestrating Nigeria’s Digital Future,” highlights the need for different sectors to work together. He explained that the association believes every player contributes like an instrument in an orchestra, and all must play in harmony to build a strong digital future for Nigeria.
He also introduced the group’s PAE agenda—Participation, Access, and Expansion. This strategy focuses on attracting new participants, supporting young innovators, and expanding beyond Lagos to other Nigerian regions and the diaspora.
Nigeria Fintech Week Goes National and Global
Dr. Jacob revealed that the 2025 edition of the event will take place across multiple cities, including Lagos, Abuja, and other locations. This approach aims to reflect the global nature of fintech and make the event more accessible to people from all parts of Nigeria and the world.
He stressed that digital transformation should be led by people in each industry since they understand their specific challenges best. “They know the pain, they feel the pain, and they can tell you better,” Dr. Jacob said. That’s why the event is now open to more industries beyond just tech and finance.
FintechNGR Plans Inclusive, Memorable Event
Jameelah Sharrieff-Ayedun, Vice President of FintechNGR and Chair of the Nigeria Fintech Week 2025 Planning Committee, said the event will be unforgettable. She promised that professionals from oil and gas, airlines, hospitality, entertainment, and other industries would be part of the event.
Jameelah said the week would bring fintech to regions like the North, South-East, and South-South, ensuring that no Nigerian is left out. “Wherever you are in the world, there’s a reason to be part of Nigeria Fintech Week,” she said. She also emphasized the need to listen to users and make modern technologies accessible to everyone.
Uche Uzoebo, Managing Director and CEO of Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities (SANEF) Limited, also spoke at the event. She backed the association’s PAE vision, saying that young Nigerians, SMEs, schools, and even food businesses should all be involved.
Uzoebo believes the 2025 event will mark a major shift. “This year will be a turning point,” she said. “We are going to have a lot of collaboration, so by 2026, there will be testimonials.”
The Nigeria Fintech Week 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most inclusive and far-reaching editions yet, bringing digital innovation closer to every Nigerian, both at home and abroad.
