Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh, a distinguished Ghanaian business leader, has officially launched Brainwave Africa Tech, a new technology company aimed at advancing digital transformation in Africa. This significant move follows her illustrious career of over two decades in the financial services and technology sectors, where she held prominent leadership roles at major organisations such as IBM and Microsoft.
Kyerematen-Jimoh’s accomplishments in the tech world are nothing short of groundbreaking. She became the first woman and African to serve as Regional Head and CEO for IBM North, East, and West Africa, overseeing business operations across 35 countries. Before that, she was Africa’s first female Country General Manager for IBM Ghana, having also held strategic positions like Marketing Lead for West Africa and Strategy Lead for Central, East, and West Africa.
Her recent role as Microsoft’s Strategic Partnership Lead for Africa under the company’s Africa Transformation Office (ATO) focused on developing digital infrastructure, skills, SMEs, and startups. Her passion for empowering women and mentoring them in the corporate sector has been a hallmark of her journey.
New Beginnings with Brainwave Africa Tech
The unveiling of Brainwave Africa Tech on 8 March 2025, marked a fresh chapter for Kyerematen-Jimoh, who revealed that her decision to establish the company was inspired by divine guidance. “I got to a point in my career where I needed a new direction. The Holy Spirit was very clear—it was time for me to start my own company,” she shared.
Under Brainwave Africa Tech, she is already launching impactful initiatives like the AI Explorers Club, which offers AI training for children aged 8 to 15 every Friday and Saturday. As Kyerematen-Jimoh puts it, “AI is here to stay, and the sooner we prepare them, the better.” Her commitment to empowering the next generation and uplifting underprivileged communities in Ghana reflects her vision for lasting change.
As Kyerematen-Jimoh continues to inspire with her innovation and leadership, the question remains—how far will Brainwave Africa Tech go in revolutionising Africa’s tech landscape?
