Google has unveiled Veo 3 Fast, a cost-effective version of its powerful Veo 3 video generation model, now enhanced with image-to-video capabilities. The new feature allows developers to animate still photos into audio-backed video sequences using prompts — merging creativity with precision.

As part of the Gemini API paid preview, both Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast now support this innovation. With just an image and a bit of text guidance, users can bring their visuals to life. These new tools open up possibilities for cinematic-quality video generation, while keeping control over the content’s narrative, movement, and sound.

You can now create dynamic, visually rich video from a single photo while preserving the look and feel,” Google announced via the Gemini developer portal.

Designed for Scale, Speed, and Smart Use

Veo 3 Fast is tailored for speed-sensitive and business-focused scenarios. While Veo 3 remains ideal for intricate creative tasks, this newer version is more suitable for programmatic advertising, rapid A/B testing, and bulk content creation.

With support for both text-to-video and image-to-video, Veo 3 Fast is priced at $0.40 per second with audio. For those wanting more cinematic finesse, Veo 3 retains its premium at $0.75 per second, also with sound.

Developers can plug into both models seamlessly through the Gemini API, enabling faster deployment without overhauling workflows. The image-to-video function, though new, comes integrated into the same interface, making it easy to test, tweak, and launch visual content on the fly.

This upgrade puts Google’s Veo 3 Fast squarely into the content arms race, especially for companies needing scalable video tools. Whether it’s for social media campaigns, automated ad creation, or product storytelling, the model is designed to perform under pressure — and with precision.
