Lebara, the international Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) known for serving global travellers and diaspora communities, has started recruiting in Nigeria ahead of its much-anticipated 2026 service launch.

The company has opened applications for 28 key positions across technical, commercial, and executive departments — a move that signals its serious entry into one of Africa’s most competitive telecom markets.

Preparing for a Big Market Entry

The latest job listings include senior leadership roles such as Head of Finance, who will oversee the company’s financial planning, compliance, and operational strategy in Nigeria.

Other high-profile openings include Head of Innovation and Partnerships, Head of Brand and Marketing, Customer Experience Manager, Service Delivery and Quality Manager, and several technical positions — from NOC Manager to Core Network Engineer and IT Infrastructure Manager.

According to reports, this recruitment drive forms part of Lebara’s groundwork to ensure seamless operations ahead of its official debut. The company’s arrival follows the recent entry of Vitel Wireless and the planned rollout of ntel’s MVNO service in early 2026, intensifying competition within Nigeria’s fast-growing telecom sector.

Lebara’s Global Edge in Roaming and Connectivity

Lebara’s existing model focuses on providing low-cost international connectivity for travellers, expatriates, and cross-border families. Through roaming partnerships with multiple telecom networks, users can make calls or access data at near-local rates in several countries using just one SIM.

The company is also recognised for its affordable international call packages, multilingual customer support, and community-centred services, including overseas top-ups and international remittance features. These offerings have made it a top choice for migrant communities across Europe and other regions.

While sources suggest that Lebara’s global reputation offers a strong starting point, the company reportedly plans to tailor its Nigerian strategy beyond just diaspora users — focusing instead on innovation, partnerships, and affordability to attract local subscribers.
