MTN Group has named David Behr as its new Chief Enterprise Business Officer, a move that marks a key turning point in the telecom giant’s strategic overhaul. Behr steps into the role immediately, following the merger of MTN’s converged solutions and enterprise business units into a single, integrated structure.
The leadership reshuffle forms part of MTN’s wider effort to simplify its commercial operations and drive focus on high-impact enterprise solutions. The company aims to align its service offerings with the evolving needs of businesses across Africa and the Middle East.
“This development follows strategic work initiated earlier this year to streamline MTN’s commercial operations,” the group noted in an official statement.
Behr’s new role places him in charge of scaling MTN’s enterprise strategy, which includes overseeing traditional voice and data services as well as more complex, next-gen offerings like cloud, internet of things, and unified communications.
Leading a Unified Enterprise Vision
Behr is no stranger to the digital infrastructure world. Prior to his promotion, he served as CEO of MTN Converged Solutions, a role that shaped much of the company’s digital roadmap. He also held executive roles at Liquid Telecommunications, where he was CEO of Cloudmania and Liquid C2, in addition to leading product and digital strategy at the group level.
With an MBA from Harvard Business School and a master’s in engineering from the University of Bristol, Behr brings a wealth of technical and business acumen to MTN’s evolving enterprise unit.
According to the group, his leadership will focus on strengthening MTN’s product portfolio, enhancing capabilities in managed services, and pushing deeper into system integration across its operating markets.
