The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has joined forces with Afrovision Technologies Limited (Doballi), a Dubai-based AI-driven recruitment platform. The NITDA and Doballi partner agreement will potentially benefit Nigeria’s growing pool of tech talents.
Despite Nigeria’s expanding digital economy, many highly skilled professionals struggle to secure international job placements. This collaboration is looking to change that situation. The plan is to create a structured pathway for Nigerian tech talents to access remote global opportunities.
How the Partnership Works
Both parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining the responsibilities of both parties. NITDA will provide a pipeline of trained and job-ready tech professionals, ensuring they meet international standards. Doballi, on its part, will connect them with top-tier global enterprises looking for African talent.
Therefore, Doballi has waived its standard $150 onboarding assessment fee for Nigerian applicants. This is designed to ease access for Nigerian tech talents. Also, the company will offer an information pack on certification requirements and industry demands. The company will equally introduce cross-cultural training and create a custom dashboard for NITDA. This will enable talent progress tracking, employer feedback monitoring, and insights into foreign currency transactions within Nigeria’s banking system.
NITDA and Doballi Partner, Optimistic About the Deal
NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, described the partnership as a significant step towards digital job sustainability. He also stated that it will provide valuable data for shaping social and economic policies.
As the world grapples with a growing demand for tech talents, Africa stands ready to lead, with Nigeria at the forefront. With its young, vibrant, and innovative workforce, the continent is poised to redefine the future of technology and drive global innovation.
Doballi’s Country Director, Mrs. Nneoma Ijei, equally expressed confidence in the initiative. She highlighted its potential to boost Nigeria’s role as a global tech hub.
“As the world grapples with a growing demand for tech talents, Africa stands ready to lead, with Nigeria at the forefront. With its young, vibrant, and innovative workforce, the continent is poised to redefine the future of technology and drive global innovation,” Ijei stated.
Consequently, this groundbreaking NITDA and Doballi partner agreement could be on track to position Nigeria’s tech workforce as a dominant force in the international digital job market.
