Legend Internet PLC has rolled out a pioneering Fibre-to-the-Room (FTTR) service, marking Nigeria’s first-ever deployment of the ultra-fast broadband solution. The new product, named FTTR by Legend, is designed to deliver pure fibre internet access to every room in a home or office, creating a fully connected environment that supports smart homes, creators, remote workers, and digital-first enterprises.
Developed in partnership with global telecom giant Huawei, the service was unveiled shortly after Legend’s recent listing on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX). According to the company, this collaboration is more than just a tech milestone — it is a bold statement about Nigeria’s digital ambitions.
“Our collaboration with Huawei reflects our commitment to global standards and local innovation,” said Aisha Abdulaziz, CEO of Legend Internet PLC. “Unlike traditional broadband that stops at the router, FTTR by Legend brings pure fibre into every room, offering zero lag, full-house coverage, and the performance needed for smart homes, remote work, creators, and tech-forward enterprises.”
A Partnership Powering the Future
The FTTR initiative is a direct outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed between Legend and Huawei Technologies. With Huawei’s decades of expertise in fibre optics and smart home technology, the project is aimed at accelerating Nigeria’s digital transformation and enhancing the country’s capacity for high-speed internet infrastructure.
“Being listed on NGX is just the beginning,” Abdulaziz added. “With FTTR by Legend, we are building the infrastructure of the future, today — not just to improve connectivity, but to transform how people live, work, and create.”
Legend’s FTTR service offers uninterrupted gigabit-speed connectivity throughout an entire property — a game-changer for Nigeria’s broadband landscape. While currently available only to premium residences, the company revealed plans to eventually scale the solution for broader public access.
Connecting More Than Just Homes
FTTR by Legend is part of a larger vision to close Nigeria’s digital divide. The initiative underscores Legend Internet’s dual-market strategy, which combines broadband innovation with a growing fintech footprint.
