Zain Group, a leading ICT and digital services provider operating across eight markets in the Middle East and Africa, has unveiled its Global M2M Offering, an innovative solution designed to simplify connectivity for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide. This new service allows OEMs to integrate their devices across multiple regional markets through a single integration point and contractual agreement, eliminating the need for a local presence while ensuring compliance with regional regulations.

This marks the first time a solution of this kind is available in the Middle East. It gives partner OEMs seamless access to all necessary connectivity services without requiring them to establish operations in each country.

The initiative is being launched in partnership with MAVOCO AG, a leading provider of connectivity management platforms. With MAVOCO’s technology, Zain can offer advanced connectivity management features, including self-service capabilities and open integration options, making it easier for businesses to monitor and control their connected devices.

The launch of this service aligns with Zain’s new 4WARD strategy, which leverages the company’s strong regional presence and advanced connectivity infrastructure. According to Kamil Hilali, Chief Strategy Officer at Zain Group, the Global M2M Offering addresses key challenges faced by OEMs, such as compliance with local regulations and high integration costs, making Zain the preferred partner for global manufacturers looking to enter Middle Eastern markets.

One of the major advantages of Zain’s solution is its ability to overcome regulatory challenges, particularly in markets like Saudi Arabia and Oman, where permanent roaming restrictions can be a barrier for foreign companies. The service provides a single connectivity point across multiple countries, eliminating the need for OEMs to work with multiple mobile network operators. Additionally, the global IMSI-based model offers cost-effective roaming rates and worldwide coverage, allowing businesses to scale without incurring significant legal and operational expenses.

By streamlining the integration process, Zain’s Global M2M Offering presents a unified contractual relationship, reducing complexity and allowing OEMs to efficiently manage their connected devices across different markets. The service is particularly beneficial for industries that require seamless global connectivity, including automotive manufacturing, industrial equipment, smart meters, connected devices, international freight, shipping, and cold supply chain management.

The impact of M2M services on global business operations is expected to grow exponentially. According to research from IoT-Analytics, there are currently around 19 billion connected devices worldwide, a number that is projected to double to 40 billion by 2030. With its latest offering, Zain is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation, providing OEMs with a cost-effective, compliant, and scalable solution to power the next wave of connected technologies.
