Flutterwave has secured a place on FXC Intelligence’s prestigious Top 100 Cross-Border Payment Companies list for 2025, positioning it among the world’s most influential firms in the global remittance and payment sector. The recognition places Flutterwave alongside tech titans like PayPal, Google, and Shopify, spotlighting its growing impact in the international payments space.

This marks yet another year of recognition for the African fintech, whose mission has been to simplify cross-border transactions while connecting Africa to the world. According to FXC Intelligence, the Top 100 list, now in its sixth edition, serves as a definitive market map of the most powerful players driving innovation in global money movement.

Being consistently recognized alongside innovation powerhouses like Google and Apple on this esteemed list truly reflects Flutterwave’s deep commitment to excellence,” said Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, Flutterwave’s Associate Vice President of Branding and Storytelling.

She added: “Our cross-border solutions were designed with our vision to connect Africa to the world and vice versa. This acknowledgement affirms our vision and fuels our unwavering commitment to delivering world-class payment services and infrastructure, building a better Africa now and in the future.”

Powering Global Connections from Africa

At the heart of Flutterwave’s strategy is its flagship product, Send App, which enables individuals and businesses to move money into and out of Africa seamlessly. As remittances remain a critical financial lifeline for many Africans, the company’s services have become indispensable for payments such as tuition, healthcare, and business operations.

In 2024, nearly 50% of businesses using Flutterwave began receiving payments from new international markets, showing strong growth across sectors like travel, hospitality, and remittances. The company also made major technological improvements to enhance the speed and reliability of Send App, with over 98% of cross-border transactions completed in under five minutes.

To deepen its cross-border capabilities, Flutterwave secured a remittance licence in Ghana, expanding its ability to process payments locally and internationally. The company also introduced a Pay With Bank Transfer feature tailored for Ghanaian businesses and formed strategic partnerships with global financial institutions including AMEX.
