Techverse Africa has officially introduced Yummeals, a food delivery app designed to reshape food delivery in Lagos through a network of ghost kitchens and delivery hubs. The foodtech venture, now operational in beta, is servicing select areas of the city, marking a significant step for the company.
Techverse founder Ajijola Habeeb shared the news in an emotional LinkedIn announcement.
“Over the weekend, we launched Yummeals in Beta! officially the first venture from Techverse Africa. Big shoutout to the amazing team that made this happen.”
According to him, the launch signals the company’s ambition to carve out a niche in Nigeria’s bustling food delivery market.
How Yummeals Works

Yummeals food delivery app utilizes a decentralized kitchen model, paired with a mobile delivery network, to streamline operations and expedite service. Habeeb explains that the platform supports efficiency across the board by using three tailored apps—for customers, delivery riders, and kitchen staff.
“Yummeals is our first major venture. It’s a network of ghost kitchens, stationary and mobile delivery hubs,” he noted.
The company’s mission, as outlined by Habeeb, is clear:
“Our goal is to offer high-quality meals at affordable prices, delivered quickly across urban Lagos.”
The first kitchen is already active in Yaba, with expansion underway to establish additional hubs in Lekki, Ikeja, and Surulere.
Why Yummeals Food Delivery App Shines
One of Yummeals’ defining offerings is its meal subscription model, which allows users to plan and prepay for daily meals at affordable rates. Combined with the innovative use of mobile kitchen vans, this feature sets Yummeals apart.
“One of the standout features of Yummeals is our meal subscription model that offers users the option to plan and prepay for daily meals at affordable rates,” said Product Lead, Yusuf Olanrewaju, speaking exclusively to TechStoriex.
This approach ensures consistent, cost-effective access to quality meals for its target audience.
“Combined with mobile kitchen vans, we’re not just delivering food. We’re delivering reliability, especially for students, workers, and budget-conscious households.”
The food delivery app itself is designed with the user in mind, prioritizing simplicity and efficiency. “Yummeals was designed to be incredibly simple and efficient,” Olanrewaju explained.
“From entering your location to checking out your order, every step is intuitive. Features like instant address input, real-time order tracking, and one-click checkout make the experience seamless. Whether you’re placing your first or fiftieth order.”
These thoughtful design choices enhance usability, making Yummeals food delivery app a convenient option for busy Lagos residents.
Get Started On Yummeals Food Delivery App

For now, orders can be placed on WhatsApp for Yummeals customers in Yaba, Surulere, and Gbagada. “If you’re in Lagos Mainland, order a meal,” Habeeb urged. “Order on Yummeals if you are in Yaba, Surulere, Gbagada, and environs.” Those outside these zones can sign up for a waitlist on the Yummeals platform as the company scales up.
Breaking Into A Competitive Food Delivery Scene
Yummeals is entering a dynamic market led by heavyweights such as Jumia Food, Glovo, FoodCourt, Bolt Food, and Chowdeck, which recently acquired Mira to boost customer experience. Despite the competition, the food delivery app sector’s growth trajectory suggests there is room for innovation.
A recent IMARC Group report states that Nigeria’s online food delivery market reached $1,037.0 million in 2024 and is projected to grow to $2,499.4 million by 2033, driven by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.3% from 2025 to 2033.
Focusing on affordability, quality, and speed, Yummeals aims to capitalize on this expanding opportunity and offer Lagos residents a fresh, convenient option.
