French media giant CANAL+, following the recent strategic integration with MultiChoice, has announced a significant restructuring of its Brand and Communication Department. The reorganization thus introduces a new global framework, comprising two regions, namely Africa and Europe/Asia, in efforts to reinforce international brand coordination.

The new structure, according to the company, is designed to help streamline communication operations across numerous markets, in alignment with CANAL+ growing presence on the global stage.

Hala Saab to Lead Communications in Africa

At the same time, according to the new structure, Hala Saab is joining as Director of Communication for Africa. Her responsibility now covers English- and Portuguese-speaking MultiChoice markets, placing her at the helm of all CANAL+ communication activities across the continent.

Saab graduated from ISC Paris, majoring in Strategic Marketing. Saab began her work at CANAL+ in 2001 and has since risen through the ranks of leadership positions, including Head of Product Communication and Director of International Communications. With over twenty years of expertise in managing brands and engaging with the media, she is committed to leading CANAL+ through a communication strategy across an increasingly dynamic entertainment market in Africa.

Armelle Masson to Lead Europe and Asia

Meanwhile, Armelle Masson has been named Director of Communication for Europe and Asia. She will lead operations in Europe, excluding France, as well as those in Vietnam and Myanmar. Masson holds a master’s in Media and Multimedia from Université Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne. She joined CANAL+ in 2005 and has held various positions in communication and marketing, most recently as Communication Manager at CANAL+ International.

Both Saab and Masson now report to Emilie Pietrini, Chief Brand and Communication Officer of CANAL+, who continues to coordinate the company’s global communication strategy from France.

Enhancing CANAL+ International Network

In France, the Brand and Communication Department will retain two complementary divisions: Advertising Communication, still headed by Céline Pontygayot, and Corporate and Programmes Communication, headed by Olivia Abehassera.

CANAL+ explained that this restructuring reflects the group’s commitment to building a more cohesive international communication network. The company believes the new arrangement will better align with its global ambitions and support the integration process with MultiChoice, which has expanded its footprint across Africa and beyond.
