Google is pushing the boundaries of AI-powered creativity once again — this time by giving users in the Middle East access to Veo 3, its most advanced AI video generation model yet. Through the Gemini platform, creators can now produce stunning, cinematic video clips with just a line of text.

Originally unveiled at Google I/O 2024, Veo 3 is not just another text-to-video tool. It creates eight-second clips with hyper-realistic visuals, ambient sound, accurate lip-syncing, and even spoken dialogue — all from a single prompt.

During the launch, Eli Collins, VP of Product at Google DeepMind, described the model as “best-in-class for realism, physics, and lip syncing.” Users can type prompts like “a foggy street in old Tokyo with neon lights” and receive high-quality, sound-synced, AI-rendered videos within moments.

Veo 3 vs Sora: Who Wins the AI Video Race?

With this global rollout, Google clearly positions Veo 3 as a direct rival to OpenAI’s Sora. While both tools focus on generative video, Google’s Veo 3 stands out for its multi-modal inputs — combining text, image, and sound — and physics-aware rendering, which allows for lifelike motion and cinematic storytelling.

According to Collins, “Veo 3 excels from text and image prompting to real-world physics and accurate lip syncing.” This high level of detail makes it ideal for creators crafting dreamlike short films, surreal clips, or marketing visuals — without needing traditional gear.

One viral example that gained traction featured a bizarre AI-rendered video of Will Smith eating spaghetti, showing how far these tools have come in terms of both realism and virality.

Built-In Safeguards for the AI Video Boom

With deepfakes on the rise, Google is embedding SynthID — its invisible watermark — in every Veo video. It’s also rolling out a visible watermark, unless the content is made using the exclusive Flow platform by Ultra-tier users.

The company is currently testing a SynthID Detector tool that will help spot AI-generated content. These measures aim to preserve trust and traceability in synthetic media as the tech becomes more mainstream.
