Kaspersky has partnered with Smart Africa in a groundbreaking three-year agreement aimed at enhancing Africa’s cybersecurity capabilities. The collaboration will focus on cybersecurity training, policy standardisation, and technological infrastructure development to combat digital threats across the continent.

A key aspect of the partnership is education. Through the Kaspersky Academy, professionals will receive advanced cybersecurity training, while initiatives targeting gender diversity will empower women in STEM, ICT, and security fields. “This MoU marks a significant milestone in our quest to secure Africa’s digital future,” said Lacina Koné, CEO of Smart Africa.

Beyond human capacity building, the agreement also seeks to unify cybersecurity policies across Africa by working closely with authorities, law enforcement agencies, and industry leaders. Additionally, Kaspersky will support the establishment of security operation centres and emergency response teams to bolster Africa’s digital resilience.

The partnership aligns with the objectives of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA), ensuring a coordinated response to cyber threats. “Our strategic partnership with Smart Africa is designed to help create a more secure cyberspace across the continent and beyond,” said Eugene Kaspersky, Founder and CEO of Kaspersky.

With Africa’s digital transformation accelerating, this collaboration is set to redefine the region’s cybersecurity landscape, equipping businesses, governments, and individuals with the tools needed for a safer digital future.

I am passionate about crafting stories, vibing to good music (and making some too), debating Nigeria’s political future like it’s the World Cup, and finding the perfect quiet spot to work and unwind.
