Nigeria’s largest fibre-to-the-home provider, FiberOne Broadband, has revealed plans for a sweeping upgrade that promises faster, smarter internet across key cities.

The phased rollout will combine network improvements with customer service changes and is scheduled to conclude by October 2026. The company says the goal is to prepare homes and businesses for the future of digital connectivity.

FiberOne: Faster Internet, Smarter Service

The upgrade is centred on two major pillars. First, FiberOne will enhance last-mile infrastructure using next-generation XGSPON fibre technology. This will support ultra-fast speeds, stronger reliability, and advanced demands like 4K/8K streaming and smart homes.

Second, the firm plans to improve customer experience. Users will gain access to self-service tools, improved support systems, new service bundles, and a loyalty programme designed to reward long-term subscribers.

CEO Lanre Ore explained, “This upgrade is about preparing our customers for the future of digital connectivity. We are not only strengthening our last-mile fibre infrastructure but also transforming the overall customer experience, ensuring our users enjoy the fastest, most reliable internet in Nigeria with world-class service support.”

Expansion Timeline

The project will begin in Lagos before reaching Abuja, Port Harcourt, and other cities. Customers will receive advance notice before changes take place, limiting disruption to existing services.

FiberOne has already built a base of 38,000+ active users since its launch in 2018. By making this investment, the company says it is reaffirming its role as Nigeria’s leader in FTTH broadband services.

Ore added, “This infrastructure and customer experience upgrade marks a major milestone in our commitment to delivering world-class broadband services to homes and businesses.

The news comes as more Nigerians turn to fast, reliable internet for work, streaming, and cloud services. By pushing ahead with next-gen technology, FiberOne Broadband is aiming to keep its customers a step ahead in the digital economy.
