The sixth edition of the Futuremakers Women in Tech Incubator Programme has announced 12 promising female-led startups in Nigeria as its 2025 finalists. The initiative, backed by Village Capital and the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), aims to strengthen women-led innovation using technology to tackle real-world issues.
These 12 startups will now begin a 12-week bootcamp. The top five will be awarded up to $10,000 in equity-free funding when winners are revealed later this year.
Among the standout names selected are HealthVest, Dynalimb Technologies, FriendnPal, Talktu, Testbloq, and Spice Social Ltd. Their solutions span various sectors including edtech, agritech, and healthtech — all tied together by a shared vision for meaningful, tech-driven change.
Equity-Free Funding and Expert Support on the Table
Now in its sixth year, the incubator has become a trusted launchpad for female entrepreneurs across Nigeria’s growing digital economy. Since 2019, the programme has distributed over $250,000 in seed capital to 25 Nigerian startups, with broader ambitions of supporting 360 women across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
The current Nigerian finalists will receive business development training, hands-on mentorship, and exposure to a network of investors and ecosystem leaders.
“The programme not only builds sustainable women-led businesses but also contributes to broader employment opportunities for women and youth across the country,” said Joke Adu, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, which sponsors the programme.
A Global Programme Rooted in Local Impact
The Futuremakers Women in Tech Incubator isn’t just about capital. It’s a platform for growth, community, and international collaboration. Alongside Nigeria, the programme runs in Bahrain, Zambia, Kenya, and the UAE, building bridges across continents to support underrepresented founders.
This year’s Nigerian cohort offers a glimpse into what the future of female-led tech can look like. Each startup brings something unique to the table — from digital therapy services to data-driven agriculture — all backed by a shared commitment to impact.
The final announcement of the five winners is expected by October 2025, as anticipation builds for who will secure funding to take their business to the next level.
