In a determined effort to support Nigeria’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Fidelity Bank Plc has kicked off a new programme aimed at driving business digitalisation. Tagged the Fidelity SME Empowerment Programme (FSEP), the initiative will provide 100 entrepreneurs with access to digital toolkits designed to automate operations, enhance productivity, and unlock business growth.
This latest project ties directly into the bank’s broader strategy to support inclusive economic development and strengthen the nation’s SME ecosystem.
What’s in Fidelity’s Digital Toolkit?
The selected entrepreneurs will receive a package that includes a Fidelity-branded POS system, a receipt printer, a barcode scanner, and full access to ERPRev software. The digital bundle also features inventory and business management tools, onboarding support, and targeted business training.
These resources are tailored to help SMEs streamline services and improve customer satisfaction while expanding their market reach. According to Osita Ede, the bank’s Divisional Head of Product Development, “Studies have shown the exponential growth SMEs can achieve through digitalisation. As Nigeria’s leading SME partner, we are walking the talk by providing free digital toolkits to our customers.”
Applications are currently open via this link, and successful candidates will benefit from hands-on support throughout the rollout phase.
Fidelity’s Broader SME Strategy
The launch of FSEP coincides with World SME Day 2025, where Fidelity Bank also provided entrepreneurs with free access to its SME Hub in Gbagada, Lagos and hosted a mentorship session led by CEO Dr Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, focused on female-led businesses.
The bank’s commitment to SMEs goes beyond this initiative. Over the years, it has built a reputation for hosting regular business clinics, sector support schemes, and masterclasses, offering tools and knowledge to help businesses thrive in competitive markets.
This ongoing work has attracted global recognition. Fidelity Bank recently earned accolades such as Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria (Euromoney), Excellence in Digital Transformation (BAFI Awards), and Most Innovative Mobile Banking App (Global Business Outlook 2024).
