HabariPay has delivered a strong financial performance in 2025. The fintech firm posted a profit after tax of N9.7 billion for the year.
This marks a sharp increase from the N3.8 billion recorded in 2024. The growth represents a 155% jump, showing rising momentum in its operations.
The figures were revealed in the full-year financial results released by Guaranty Trust Holding Company.
The increase in HabariPay profit reflects stronger earnings across its services. As activity grew, the company recorded higher operating income throughout the year.
Revenue also surged. Gross revenue climbed to N12.9 billion in 2025, up from N5.8 billion in the previous year. This rise was driven by growth across key income streams.
HabariPay profit growth backed by rising revenue
The HabariPay profit story is closely tied to its expanding revenue base. As earnings increased, the company also managed its costs carefully.
Operating expenses rose to N3.2 billion, doubling from N1.6 billion in 2024. Despite this increase, the fintech maintained a strong profit position.
Notably, the company reported no loan impairment charges or tax expenses. This highlights a lean operating structure and efficient cost management.
Even so, HabariPay remains a small part of the broader group. Its N9.7 billion profit accounts for about 1.1% of GTCO’s total profit.
GTCO earnings remain strong overall
Beyond its fintech arm, Guaranty Trust Holding Company posted solid results for the year.
The group recorded N865 billion in profit after tax. Meanwhile, gross earnings rose slightly to N2.215 trillion, compared to N2.15 trillion in 2024.
Interest income played a major role in this performance. It increased to N1.6 trillion from N1.3 trillion the previous year.
Loans and advances to customers contributed N559.3 billion. Investment securities also added significant value, including N489.4 billion at fair value and N269.2 billion at amortised cost.
While HabariPay’s contribution remains modest, its rapid growth stands out. As fintech adoption rises, its role within the group could become more significant over time.
